Nice room, nothing pretentious about it. Really good service, attentive but not in your face. Short wine list with some well-priced options. Started with scallops and the butter lettuce salad, both really good. Had the pork tenderloin and the chicken - outstanding! Chocolate tart was really good, though the crust was a bit tough. Super yummy rose sorbet. Will definitely go back.

I’ve been a customer at Made in China for a couple of years and I’m happy to say they never disappoint. They have a lunch offering that is unbeatable. For ten dollars (including tax and tip) they serve a variety of tasty lunch specials that change every week, including General Tao Chicken, Pad Thai Beef (this not just Chinese food, but what they call “Asian Fusion”), Kung Po Pork, and Spare Ribs in Oyster sauce. They cook everything to order, which is great since I don’t like too much spice. Lunch includes soup, a large portion of rice, and they even throw in a soft drink or all the jasmine tea you can drink (if you want to skip the soup it will cost you a dollar less). Where the ambience is rather drab in so many Asian restaurants, this place has a series of colourful murals right out of the 1950s that include pictures of Chairman Mao, Zhou En-lai, pretty girls having a whale of a time gathering crops from the fields, kids and animals in space suits, and several cute pandas. Great value all the way.

My Guest and I also had a hard time finding the entrance on a very cold rainy night you'd think they'd make it a little clearer knowing this! I've eaten in a lot of Restaurants and Italian ones and this by far is the worst I have ever been to. In fact I used to go to the original Vittorio' s when Vittorio owned and ran it Yonge St N and he's probably turning over in his grave knowing this place is not honouring his name, quality and service. I think the Owner is tired and over this business and should get out. The place was not that busy but the service was slow and sluggish and the bottle of wine took forever to arrive. Ordered the Carpaccio and although it was advertised with Arugula it came on spring mix and the waiter insisted it was Arugula (too funny) until he checked with the kitchen who confirmed it wasn't Arugula; from reading other reviews this is not the only time this happens so what gives? My Guest likes fish and we ordered the whole grilled fish but can't eat it if she sees the head on the plate, so I made it very clear to the young and obviously inexperienced waiter and he confirmed that the kitchen would remove the head and guess what arrived? Staring eyes…We asked that they deboned it and it was poorly done that I had to fix it and debone it properly at the table. The Waiter knew how disappointed we were and tried to make it up and asked what he could do and I asked for a small side dish of Pasta al Aglio & Olio which came out not so good and soon after some Guy comes over and without introducing himself asks me what the problem is and I ask why he is asking, he then said that the waiter asked for the pasta to be comped…so when I told him everything, he got all upset and started arguing with me and walked away…he was the Owner…go figure! The waiter embarrassingly came over to apologize on behalf of the Owner and tried to convince me that maybe the service was not that bad…but is was and slow! I will NEVER go back there and to be charged for bread, 'nickel and dime' cheap! The food is not authentic and their cutting corners over and over again shows up in lack in quality! Ughhh! A real embarrassment to Toronto Restaurants!
