The food was mediocre at best, and but the service at all levels was atrocious. I had even heard a woman, who I believe was the owner, making rude remarks about patrons who had just left. I could not possibly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We had a company lunch here yesterday. Food: - Buns (cold. Not room temperature cold but outside cold. It's December) - Caesar Salad (too much dressing and croutons were soggy) - Main Dish (Prime Rib didn't taste like Beef. Looked like it'd been cooked over and over again because the texture was very similar to stew beef. And the chicken breasts were obviously warmed up from frozen because they were all like hockey pucks) - Ice cream (no comments. I didn't bother eating it) Service: The young man seems ok. He forgot a few things here and there but at least he has a smile on his face. The old lady seems to be at a retirement age and perhaps that's why she was upset for having to work. I asked her to refill water for the plastic water jug on our table. Her response: OK, BUT I HAVE TO SERVE NOW. Hello....? You're a SERVER!! Also, when we asked her if the buns were warm, she said "they're fresh" which was a lie because all the buns were dry and cold. And other than the dirty glasses on top of what had been mentioned above, everything else was fine. So go ahead and book it if you like bad food and bad customer service. Highly recommended.

The place has been recently renovated by Restaurant Takeover and recently aired on food network channel. The kabobs are amazing and juicy but washrooms are downstairs, which i find difficult.

To the guy expecting bacon around his filet mignon, the wet aged filet mignon at Smith's is amazing, it doesn't need pork fat to smother it to add any extra taste. I do agree that the matchstick fries SUCK and are way too salty. They should re-think those fries. regular frozen ones would be better. Service is not that experienced. But the food and steaks are amazing. Also you couldn't afford Barbarians or find bacon around their beef either. Price point at Smith's is very fair for the quality.

Been to Smith Bros. Three times now. Each time, food's been great, service too. We've pretty much tried everything on the menu from prime rib to the the steaks, appetizers. Prime rib is fantastic, steaks tender and well priced. Can't beat the food and value. Also nice is the selection of local craft beer and the beer sampler. Highly recommend. Good job guys. Scarborough needs you!

The best part of the meal was the appetizer. Simple chicken dumplings. I ordered a Filet Mignon for my main. - It doesn't come bacon wraped.. dry around the edges - Not a typical round cut... Had weird angles to it and a very thick center made it hard to cook to order... (in other words undercooked) - Matchstick fries... SUCK. Don't stay on the fork, and WAY TOO SALTY. my mouth was burning. Not fun. Service was crappy. They must have forgotten our order. Took way to long to get our food. I'd rather the Keg over Smith Bros. Any day of the week. Better Price Better food. Did I mention over priced? For that price I'd rather eat at Barberians. Yonge and Elm. Pay for parking and all.

"Beware demanding customer, Karen Santo"

The 'review' that is posted below by 'Steven' regarding the customer service at the Bristol Yard is not only ridiculous it is also flat out lies. The review is being posted by an incredibly demanding and borderline psychotic woman whom we have had a bad experience with. Her name is Karen Santo or KC Santo. This whole problem stemmed from the fact that we were unable to accommodate her DEMAND for a rare cut of prime rib. Simple story is this. Woman books table for 3 for our Sunday roast a week ago. Roast starts at 6pm on Sunday. She calls Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm and says that someone in her party MUST have their roast beef cooked rare. I thought about this, and quickly realised it was impossible for me to accommodate her for a few reasons. 1) it was 4:30pm and the roast has been in the oven for quite some time... dinner is at 6pm and I was knee deep in other prep work having just completed a full day of brunch service and now I was on to dinner prep without 5 minutes to even think let alone make custom request alterations. 2) We only make ONE roast for the dinner as we only have 20 seats total. This isn't the Keg... this is a tiny little restaurant where I do all the cooking. I cannot take the beef out, cut a slab of rare beef out and put it back in the oven... SO... I tell the woman this and she is clearly incensed and irate on the phone. I politely tell her if she was to ask for this further in advance I could definitely find a way to accommodate her. I jokingly said to her... don't worry we don't overcook our beef... she did not take to that comment.. and basically yelled at me saying... I DIDN'T ACCUSE YOU OF NOT COOKING YOUR MEAT PROPERLY! The conversation ended with me saying I am sorry I could not accommodate your request. To cut to the chase... she didn't show up for her booking... leaving us with an empty table for 3 that we would have sold to someone else. This costs us (a tiny restaurant) a lot of money. She could have politely said that if we can't accommodate her request she could not keep the reservation... that would have been fine. She did not. Bothered by this no-show I messaged her this morning to say thanks for being a no-show but I did not swear at her. She messaged me right back telling me that she was HAPPY I LOST MONEY and then told me she was going to write bad reviews all day... which she has done. She has also threatened to get me a bad review in the Toronto Star through her 'connections'.. possibly this mysterious Steven fellow (who wrote the review below). I am so tired of dealing with this nutjob, demanding nightmare of a customer. Please do yourselves a favour restaurant owners... DO NOT BOOK HER INTO YOUR PLACE. Thanks.

The food at the Bristol yard is really quite good. However, it is no better than at many Pubs around the city. And after having dealt with multiple horrible customer service situations from the owner, including being sworn at over email and hung up on (both of stemmed merely from inquiring , I have to say that there are much better places to give your money to. Avoid this place.

I had nothing but a horrible experience with this place. First off I got sick from their food. The spring rolls and the tofu didn't taste right and I'm assuming had gone bad. Kitchen staff were rude and I heard a waitress audibly protest a tip that was left. I mentioned this place to a friend and she said she will never step foot in there again as she saw a cockroach in the downstairs area close to where they keep their food. I regret having eaten anything from there at all. I have been told they have had the Ministry of Labour called on them a few times which seems suspicious. I would advise anyone with a conscience and good taste to not support a place like this. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes and you never know, that crispy tofu might just be a crispy cockroach.
